"Benefit for B"

Rick Turner invites SME Cleveland members to join us on Friday, July 23, 2010 for the "Benefit for B", an event to raise funds for Brandon's year long recovery and rehabilitation. We are happy to partner with House of Blues Cleveland for this event that will provide food, fun, great raffle packages, local celebrities and entertainment that in the end will benefit Brandon and his loved ones.

We are currently seeking raffle prize donations and sponsorship opportunities are available. If you have an item or opportunity that you would like to donate or to volunteer, please contact me at my email address below for inclusion. Feel free to get creative with your donations as this event was attended by over 350 people from NEO and across the US!

The "Benefit for B" starts at 8PM on the 23rd at the House of Blues, and tickets are $40 per person. Each $40 donation includes two drink tickets, signature appetizers and one complimentary raffle ticket. You may purchase advance tickets at the House of Blues box office or by contacting one of the committee members listed on the attached form. Tickets are on sale now and the price will increase to $50 on the day of the event, so don't wait!

As Event and Hospitality professionals, we all know how supportive our respective industries can be to a good cause. Let's take this time to make Brandon Hiller our cause and support this fundraising effort. I have no doubt in my mind that Brandon would do the same for each and every one of us.

On May 2, 2009, our friend, Brandon Hiller, one of the most respected and well-liked champions of the local hospitality industry suffered a debilitating injury during an accident while volunteering at a sports event. Those who know Brandon can all agree that he has been a key player in industry associations for the past few years. Brandon has always supported Cleveland and his friends, and it is time that we ask you to return the favor and support Brandon and his family.

Thank you very much for your consideration, and please continue to keep Brandon in your thoughts and prayers.

Julie Provins, SME Cleveland member wants you to know I've started a marketing blog on cleveland.com.

We'll be talking about company news, general information about where we are in the community, new partnerships and new sponsorships.

I'll also be offering tips, links and interesting tidbits about industry news and internet marketing/advertising. My hope is to be a resource for you and not just a place for me to brag about all the great things cleveland.com is up to!

Feel free to post questions or comments in the blog*, offer suggestions for topics and of course, if you feel it's a useful tool for you as time goes by, please feel free to share with others!

You can find the blog here: http://www.cleveland.com/company-news/

Just as a preview, later this week I'll be sharing information about some new studies that discuss the correlation between display and search engine marketing to create brand lift and drive traffic.

I hope it's helpful, and if you have any feedback please feel free to share!
